  • Get comfortable with your sewing machine.
  • Learn to read a pattern and envelope, understand the marks and symbols.
  • Learn basic dressmaking techniques as you work on a pyjama top (and bottom if time permits).

  • Learn what to look for in a pattern and how to select the right fabric & notions. One class is held in a fabric store where Michele will help you make appropriate choices in selecting your personal project.
  • Cut out and sew a muslin as your test garment, make minor adjustments to fit your body.
  • Transfer adjustments from the muslin to your pattern. You are now ready for cutting out your fashion fabric.

  • Cut out your fashion fabric using your altered pattern.
  • Learn proper construction and finishing techniques as you work on your personal project.
  • Put in a zipper, make beautiful darts, finish seams, test out a serger for finishing edges.
  • Make a personalized pattern of your adjustments (if time permits).
  • Celebrate your accomplishment with a photo!


One-on-One Workshops

Skip Session I and combine Sessions II and III into a 4-day, intensive workshop with Michèle. Workshops are one-on-one and held at Michèle's home sewing studio in Millbrook, Ontario.

Workshops are held over four days, Thursday to Sunday or arranged to suit.
