Michèle Swiderski designs, makes and sells every coat and hat. She loves using interesting linings and fabrics inside her coats. She believes the lining is as important, sometimes more so, than the outer fabric.

Wearing a specially-made, funky coat is a real kick! It gives you a lift because while it is totally functional, it’s also pure fun to wear – especially with a matching hat!

Michèle’s current line of coats include faux-fur used as lining – see The Marnie. Having the fur inside the coat gives a more subtle appearance than with the fur on the outside. It makes the garment much more interesting as well as longer lasting.

Coats by Design is located near Peterborough, Ontario in the coutryside of the village of Millbrook, home to the 4th Line outdoor theatre. It is also home to THE best road cycling to be found anywhere in Ontario.
