Learn Foundation Sewing Skills with Michèle Swiderski

Evening Classes and Weekend Workshops

Learn the fundamentals of proper dressmaking techniques. Classes are designed for those with little or no sewing experience. You will begin by learning the absolute basics of 'reading' a pattern and its envelope, make a test garment to ensure proper fit, and construct at least two garments.

Once you have completed this 22-week course (55 hours), you will have the skills necessary to make a garment on your own using most any pattern labeled 'easy'.

  • Course is organized in blocks of 6-8 week sessions – see course description.
  • Classes are small (4-5 students) and allow for individual attention.
  • Time and Location: Classes held in Peterborough; phone for course dates.
  • Costs: $120 - $160 per session
  • One-on-one workshops – see course description.
